Performance Imports magazine is an Australian publication catering to enthusiasts of Japanese imported motor vehicles. In addition to road-testing Japanese import vehicles, HPI offers technical features on modifications and feature articles on modified cars. HPI visit Japan to cover events such as the JGTC, Drag racing and Drifting. HPI also attends major shows such as the Tokyo Auto Salon, to give readers insight into the Japanese performance scene. HPI is also actively involved in the local import scene. There is always a project car in the HPI garage, which is used for testing parts and demonstrating methods of modification. HPI is the only magazine in Australia catering to the import market. It has become recognised as an industry standard and articles from the magazines are often used as part of the import compliance eligibility criteria.
