The world has changed, and so has ABOVE magazine. With this issue, Above has been recycled – literally and figuratively – and reborn as a new lifestyle magazine. Created in response to the urgent need for sustainable living, ABOVE speaks not only to the environmentally-conscious but to everyone interested in the future and fate of our world by focusing on beauty and, most importantly, its preservation in all its forms.

It is our firm belief that photography, the arts, fashion, architecture and design can be instrumental in raising awareness about endangered beauty and the urgent need to preserve nature. This magazine was created by and for those who recognize that the true appeal of beautiful objects and places derives from their inherent rarity and fragility.

Where do we find inspiration? Everywhere. It lies in the diverse beauty of mankind, the preciousness of the earth and its resources and the challenges and opportunities we face in the future. Our contributors are among the world’s great photographers and writers, who in these pages are given carte blanche to explore and showcase the splendors of a vanishing world – and in so doing they remind us of the immediate, vital need to safeguard what remains of it.
